SuperCharged Lexus ISF

This Lexus ISF was built in 2008 and has been displayed at some of the largest automotive shows in North America. Builder, Gordon Ting, recently got the car back and is currently changing things up to get this ISF track ready. The custom SuperCharger is in the process of being tuned and we will be making some suspension tweaks for a more track oriented setup.

Aggressive stance from the Super Street coilovers. The bright neon green PFC brake kit and Advan RZ wheels really turn heads.

Sparco seats and belts with custom matte black roll bar.

EDFC and Greddy monitoring devices replace the glove box.

This ISF looks menacing from all angles.

Custom SuperCharger which should add some extra oomph to the already potent V8.

TEIN Authorized Dealer in the Spotlight

At TEIN, we work through our network Authorized Dealers to help promote our brand. Many of our dealers spend a lot of time advertising, and even testing our products out for themselves, all in an effort to get our name out there, as well as provide consumers with valuable feedback. RallySport Direct not only sells TEIN, but are also quite knowledgeable with our product line.

Located in Riverton, Utah, RallySport Direct has easy access to the playgrounds of Miller Motorsports Park. Must be nice! This gives the team at RallySport Direct a chance to really put the products they sell to the test.

Purchasing Manager, Ben Mertlich’s 2006 Mitsubishi Evo MR uses our Super Racing dampers. With a bevy of upgrades, such as parts from TurboXS, Hallman, and Brembo, to name a few, this makes quite a fun track car. Oh, and 325 AWHP helps too, I’m sure!

Owner Nick Widdison also made quick work of his ’05 STI, displaying the latest must-have parts.

This active group of enthusiasts can also be found on many automotive forums posting the most up-to-date information on new products and events, as well as offering tech support.  They also have some pretty cool videos on YouTube- check out their What’s in the Box segments. Much more informative than just staring at pictures of car parts, if you ask me!

Established in 2003  by Nick Widdison, RallySport Direct were quick to react to the new car market, making a name for themselves among the Subaru and Mitsubishi community as the go-to guys for aftermarket parts. They have since expanded their products and applications line. So don’t discount them if you’re looking for parts for your Honda, Nissan, or Mazda, etc. They can get you what you need.

So, if you’re in their area, stop by and visit their showroom. These guys are more than willing to assist. And, as previously mentioned, they’re always on the web to answer your questions. Their customer service will definitely be the highlight of your experience with them!

Many thanks to the crew at RallySport Direct for their continued support for TEIN!!!

Sneed’s Speed Shop 1992 BMW 325is

TEIN Authorized Dealer Sneed’s Speed Shop in North Carolina recently completed their 1992 BMW 325is road race car. Sneed’s has prepared the 325is to run in NASA GTS2 class for the 2010 season. Sneed’s Speed Shop owner and driver Chris Sneed has already grabbed a 2nd place finish and a WIN in the car’s first two starts!

Sneed’s Bimmer features a non-vanos M50 2.5L engine per the NASA GTS2 rules.  Snowwhite as the car is affectionately called, sports a set of TEIN SSP coilovers front and rear , plus M3 brakes, Carbotech pads, Turner adjustable rear control arms and 17×9 ARC wheels with super sticky 245/40/17 Hoosier R6 tires.

A custom built Sneed Speed roll cage keeps Chris safe and adds rigidity to the chassis. Sneed’s also added an in-house designed Sneed front splitter with dive planes as well as a Sneed carbon rear wing.

Sneed attributes the adjustability of the TEIN coilovers and Sneed’s Speed aero parts to being able to dial in the handling on the car so quickly.

Follow the car on facebook, Sneed Speed Shop.

Mitsubishi Owners Day 2010

On Sat. we attended the MOD event held at Mitsubishi HQ in Cypress, CA. As one can imagine the event was filled with all models that Mitsubishi produced. The event included cars, girls, vendors, food and lots of free raffle prizes.

EVOs

There were many vendors on hand including both manufacturers and shops.

Our booth had two vehicles on display which are both owned by TEIN employees. Philip’s EVO 9 SE and Jon’s EVO 10 GSR.

Few items including Super Racing Coilovers on display in our booth.

Right down the aisle from us was TEIN Authorized Dealer, Evasive Motorsports. Evasive sales rep. Dennis’s EVO X on display in their booth. His EVO features Mono FLEX coilovers, Volk CE28s, Voltex lip and a host of other parts.

TEIN Authorized dealer, Road Race Motorsports had a large booth space and a few cars on display including Robert Tallini’s Eclipse race car. This car uses custom valved Super Street dampers.

Walking through the show we met, Wes, a proud 3000GT VR4 owner using TEIN Flex coilovers.

Looking forward to MOD 2011.

For more coverage of MOD 2010 check out The Octane Report.

Employee owned: EVO 9

This car has been in a few previous posts. It is owned by one of the staff here at TEIN USA. Originally bought brand new to be a fun daily driver / occasional track toy but soon took on a life of its own. Since we are the exclusive distributor for a variety of top brands (Carbing, Fujitsubo, Defi, SuperPro, and Takata) it was easy to build a quality car, plus employee discounts never hurt.

The exterior is comprised of Voltex bodykit and wing. Volk TE-37 18×9.5+12 with 8mm of spacers on front and rear wrapped with 275/35/18 tires.

Sitting on Super Racing coilovers with 14kg front springs and 12kg rear springs. The dampers have also been revalved with a few “special” parts to test out. Could be lower for appearance sake but this ride height works well for performance reasons.

Power is provided by Tomei ARMS turbo, Cosworth head and top end internals, plus a few HKS parts. You can find out HP/TQ and power curve in the current issue of Import Tuner magazine (July 2010) which go into detail about the Tomei Arms M7960 turbo, Cosworth 272 cams, and Okada Projects Quad Pac ignition coils. Drivetrain is comprised of Carbonetic carbon fiber clutch and carbon differentials.

Interior is filled with DEFI meters, Bride GIAS seats, Greddy boost controller, Alpine headunit, and of course dual EDFCs.

Having fun and testing at Willow Springs raceway in 2009.

2008 EVO vs STI Shootout at Buttonwillow raceway. Ran a 1:59 on config. CW13 with Rob Walker driving on Hankook RS-2 street tires.

Auto-Tech Interior’s 2009 Nissan Cube

For me a Nissan Cube is a car I would not take a second look at but the Auto-Tech Interior (ATI) Cube has definitely changed my perception. Marc M. of ATI envisioned an urban transport vehicle which could be used for people with an active lifestyle. This 2009 Cube S 6-speed features a host of aftermarket and OEM optional equipment. The 5-door Cube has plenty of space to haul around 4 people which is great during the work week or on the way to the club or pub. All the while listening to the JVC audio system complete navigation, blue tooth, front and rear coaxial speakers, amps, and 10″ subwoofer. The Yakima roof racks are perfect to strap down a few snowboards during the Winter, mountain bikes in the Spring, and surf boards in the Summer. The seats are even wrapped in waterproof Wet Okole seat covers so the transition from surf spots is without delay.

Marc chose to go with the TEIN BASIC coilovers which gives him the ability to adjust the ride height while improving overall handling. This pic shows the coilovers at maximum drop which is about -2.5″. According to Marc, the ride is still comfortable considering how low the car is. The full OEM optional lip kit looks good as do the 16×7 and 16×8 SSR SP1 Professor wheels wrapped with Falken ZE912 rubber.

ATI Cube grill in black along with factory optional front lip and hood accent give the front a more aggressive look.

As you can see there is still plenty of space in the back even with the 10″ JVC Arsenal subwoofer housed inside the ATI Cube specific enclosure. The best thing about the enclosure is that it can be easily removed just in case additional space is needed. Other modifications include DC Sports exhaust, K&N Intake,

2009 SEMA Auto-Tech Interior booth model, Ms. Corissa Furr posing for a quick pic inside the Cube.

None of the parts are custom or considered outrageous which just goes to show that you can make a good looking AND practical car with the right combination of parts.
