A Cleverly Mounted Defi Advance ZD!!

Not too long ago, we were contacted by Mike Bratcher of Riseful. He was really interested in Defi’s Advance ZD unit as a solution for metering his engine without the clutter of gauge dials mounted on and around his dash.

He later followed up with us, wanting to order more Advance ZD units, and it seemed that it was because of his unique mounting solution on his NSX that it generated some buzz.

As mentioned earlier, Mike wanted to eliminate a cluster of gauges on his dash, preferring to keep with his car’s subtle interior design cues. His solution? Mounting the Advance ZD where the stereo screen. This of course meant the removal of his stereo screen, but since his died out, it made a perfect location for his custom mounting idea.

Here are some pictures that Mr. Bratcher shared on NSXprime.com:

A very well excecuted job, Mr. Bratcher!!!

Interested in mouting your Advance ZD in similar fashion? Mr. Bratched seems to have documented this installation pretty well on NSXprime. Check out his post!

Mad Mike’s MADBUL RX-7

As some of you that follow the sport of drifting internationally may already know, Mad Mike Whiddett is clearly MAD. His RX-7 has to be one of the most unique ones in competition (as if the standard in Formula D isn’t already insane). We’ve posted about his car before. Looks like he’s got more in store for next year.

Speedhunters.com shared a video of some recent changes made to the MADBUL RX7. Check it out

So it looks like this beasts 4-rotor motor is now putting out 674 horsies. To the wheels, that is. This isn’t the usual LS V8, or some crazy crate motor we’re used to seeing Stateside. And dang,,, that rotary sound!!! Add to that, a reduction in vehicle weight and he’s now got a super competitive platform.

Check out the specs, and more on the driver right from his website

Redline Time Attack Season Opener

We want to congratulate Evasive Motorsports and SportCar Motion for their class wins in this past weekends Redline Time Attack held at ButtonWillow Raceway.

Evasive Motorsports campaigned two vehicles. Their well known EVO 9 in the Super Modified Class and a Civic Si in the Enthusiast FF class.

Driver Tim Kuo piloted the EVO 9 to second place finish with a time of 1:47.987 on Yokohama slicks. There is still lots of time left in the car and we will be working with Evasive to dial in the Super Racing coilovers.

Driver and vehicle owner Mike Chang pushed the Civic Si Sedan to a 2:04.085 for the class win in Enthusiast FF. Expect this car to get faster as we will be making changes to the rear Mono FLEX suspension (soon to be using parts from a TEIN N1 racing kit).

SportCar Motion debuted their Integra Type-R in the Modified FF class and driver Renzo Marsano not only took the class win with a 2.00.055 but beat the next top finisher by 4 seconds. The crew at SportCar Motion will soon be testing out new spring rates and new valving to make the ITR even quicker.
