Counterfeit DEFI Gauges

It has been brought to our attention that there are multiple counterfeit Defi gauges circulating the market.  Please be extra careful if you come across an unbelievable price for a new set of Defi gauges.

Counterfeit items are not manufactured to FCC standards. They can burn out your electrical system along with other potential problems.

We cannot stress enough to only purchase from TEIN authorized dealers. Visit the link below to locate the nearest dealer to you.

AUTHORIZED TEIN DEALER LIST

There may seem to be subtle differences between a counterfeit and authentic Defi gauge, components, and its packaging. They’re subtle enough to go unnoticed. Again, they may look original. But, under a keen eye, you can notice the differences. Below are some pictures courtesy of Defi. Please take a close look the these pictures. Also below is a link to Defi’s website detailing more counterfeit vs original photos.

Overhaul Season

What’s up, all?!! Just a friendly reminder that the winter season is the ideal season to submit your dampers to us for an overhaul.  To those who don’t know what an overhaul means, basically we freshen up the dampers to a like new condition.

The standard turnaround time is between three to five weeks. The repair time frame depends on the condition of the dampers.  Dampers with less damage are typically overhauled under two weeks. However,  repairs to severely damaged dampers can be prolonged up to five weeks.  Unfortunately, we cannot confirm a repair time frame, nor exact overhaul total until the dampers are inspected.

OH

Before you submit your dampers to us, make sure fill out our overhaul agreement form. Please visit the link provided below to obtain this form.

What’s up?!!! This year we will be attending the 2013 SEMA show as visitors. Unfortunately there will be no TEIN booth this year. We know, we know. What a bummer. However, you might be able to catch the marketing manager and general manager at the show!

Nevertheless we have released  new products this year. Which ones, you might ask? Any guesses? That’s right our new EDFC Active and Street Flex coilover line. Most of you have seen the ads in magazine and the product at our show booths. If you are not familiar with them visit the links below.

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Testing Wrap Up.

Our R&D department has wrapped up testing on the 2013 Genesis Coupe last month. We are glad to announce that our product line for the Genesis Coupe is compatible from 2010-2013 (see part numbers below). However, 2013 owners will need to purchase the end links for the 2010 model for our coil-over kit for proper function of the factory sway bar.

Below are pictures of the Genesis Coupe. A shout out to Robert from Magnaflow for lending us his vehicle for testing. His Genesis coupe is currently being built for display at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV. as well as local events.

Formula Drift Finals!

The Formula Drift season will soon come to a close. On October 11-12, Irwindale Speedway will be hosting the final race for the season (Round 7, Final Fight)

We will attend this year’s last event for the season, as we normally do.  Last year we also attended the first and last event. I can’t deny we got a little overwhelmed with how many spectators attended and stopped by our booth.  This year we expect nothing less.

11

So get your cash ready and stop by our booth. We will have all kinds of TEIN goods, and several other products for sale. Along with knowledgeable TEIN staff to answer any product or technical questions you may have.

Japanese Classic Car Show 2013

What’s up guys!? As you all may know, you can catch me working at all the events that TEIN attends.  If you follow my previous blogs, most of them are for events TEIN is planning to attend and updates on events we have attended.

This year we will be attending the 2013 Japanese Classic Car Show . This event will take place on Saturday, September 28th in the city of Long Beach, CA by the Queen Mary.  Last year we attended this event and were surprised with the outcome.  If you prefer the classics over late models, don’t pass on this show.  You will find Datsun’s/Nissan’s, Toyota’s, Honda’s, etc. Visit the link provided below to get further information on this event and to view photos of the previous years.

Fontana Nissan 5th Annual Meet Update

As detailed in a previous blog post, this year we attended Fontana Nissan’s 5th annual meet.  I must say, it was hot like a ___ out there.

As expected there were tuned Nissans left and right. 350Z, 370Z, S13, S14, g35, g37 and so on and so fourth.  None of these cars are even near as good as my Altima coupe (just kidding!!!), but there were some pretty spiffy rides out there. Take a look at the photos we took below.

Fontana Nissan 5th Annual Meet

What’s up guys?!!  Next month will be attending Fontana Nissan’s annual meet on Sunday,  September 8th, at Auto Club Speedway. This will be their 5th year hosting this NISMO meet. Of course, TEIN will be attending this event. I myself drive an Altima Coupe (dropped on TEIN Basic coilovers), so I’m excited to see what people have done to their coupes. I also look forward to seeing Infiniti’s and other Nissans present. I’m sure there will be slammed 350z, 370z, g35, g37, 240sx, 200sx, 300zx, GT-R, etc. The list can go on.

Make sure to stop by our booth and pick up some shirts and TEIN goods that we’ll have for sale. Also, feel free to ask any technical questions or product inquiries you may have.  On display, we will have our EDFC Active control units for customers to play with and see how it works.

Make sure to check back with us next month to get an update on this event. Please visit the links provided below to get more information on this event.

M.O.D 2013

As detailed in a previous post, this year we attended Mitsubishi Owner’s Day (M.O.D.). I’ll be honest, it was better than what I anticipated. The doors opened up at 9:00am to the public. However we were swamped with question around 7:00am, the second we started setting up our booth.Mitsubishi-Owners-Day-2013-Cypress-CA-July-13-017-TEIN-1025x683

We mostly received questions about our new EDFC Active- what the benefits are, the features,  so on and so forth.  We also received questions about coilover retro fitments (which matches well with our Specialized Damper Program) and the current test vehicles are R&D team requires.

I walked around and took pictures of some pretty nifty rides.  Take a look at them below.

2.5s (4cyl) Altima Coupe S.Tech Results

Testing for the 4cyl (2.5) Altima Coupe is now complete. Unfortunately, the springs available for the 6cyl (3.5) Altima coupe are not compatible with the 4cyl, although springs will mount up without a problem. You will achieve about a 1″ drop in the rear.  However, the springs rates for the front springs are too stiff resulting in a lifted front end. This would obviously give your coupe a look as if you where carrying pounds of cement in the trunk.  Therefore a new spring has been designed and ordered specifically for the 2.5 Altima Coupe. The spring kit should be available for purchase in the US within two to three months.

Feel free to contact us should you have any questions.
